Independent Optician in Dún Laoghaire

Agata, the owner of the independent optician in Dun Laoghaire.

We are a proudly local, independent optician based in Dún Laoghaire. We opened our studio to create a calm, welcoming space where you can take your time trying on frames without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by overcrowded retail environments.

‘Got Frames’ was founded by Agata, a Dispensing Optician passionate about helping people find frames that truly fit.

We offer a wide range of low-bridge fit frames and XS frames because one size does not fit all faces. We provide Quiet Hour, our sensory-friendly appointments for patients who need a calmer environment. We carry out frame alterations and repairs in-house because good eyewear should last.

Currently, we dispense glasses based on your prescription, carefully fitting each pair to your face, lifestyle, and visual needs. Our eye examination service is coming soon.

We also provide unique frame alterations, such as adding pads on arms to acetate frames. The small adjustment can improve the comfort, fit, and performance of the lenses.

If you are ready for a new pair of glasses, please bring a copy of your current prescription and visit our studio in Dún Laoghaire.

If you have any questions about our services, please get in touch or visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Services

Frames and Lenses

We understand that every face is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all frame. We want your glasses to look and feel great.

We are the first optician to have a wide range of low-bridge frames, which are designed for people who struggle with standard-fit glasses.

Sensory-Friendly Appointments

Visiting an optician can feel overwhelming. That’s why we offer a different approach. Our Quiet Hour is a private, one-to-one appointment in a calm, low-sensory environment—ideal for neurodivergent patients. It’s a free service to support our community. Please email us to book the Quiet Hour Appointment. Available from Monday to Saturday from 9:00-10:00.

Sport and safety eyewear

We look at the specific sport you'll be playing, the level of impact protection or safety required, and the best optical solution for your prescription. Sports eyewear can be customised with a wide range of lens options, including single-vision, progressive, photochromic (Transitions®), and tinted lenses, providing both excellent vision and the protection needed for your chosen activity.

Children’s Glasses

We also specialise in children’s glasses, ensuring frames fit properly and stay in place. A good fit is essential for comfort, confidence, and a clear vision of the growing patients. We have brands such as CentroStyle, iPlay, and Stepper Start. Check out our blog for tips on choosing the best glasses for your child.
